Your journey begins with an early pick-up from your hotel in Cusco. As you leave the city, the drive takes you through charming Andean villages and rolling landscapes. After a stop for breakfast, you’ll continue to the trailhead where your hike begins.

The trail to Waqrapukara is moderately challenging but rewarding. Along the way, you’ll be surrounded by towering mountains, herds of llamas and alpacas, and spectacular views of the Apurímac Canyon. Your guide will share insights into the natural and cultural significance of the area.

After a few hours of hiking, you’ll arrive at the majestic Waqrapukara Fortress. Built on a dramatic cliff, this site was a ceremonial and military stronghold of the Incas. Its horn-shaped rock formations and surrounding terraces create a mystical atmosphere that invites exploration and reflection.

You’ll enjoy a guided tour of the site, learning about its history, architecture, and spiritual meaning. After exploring, relax with a picnic lunch surrounded by breathtaking scenery. In the afternoon, you’ll hike back to the trailhead and return to Cusco by evening.
